So long 2012 ... Bring on 2013 ...

2012 ended pretty rough and not how I would've liked for it to have ended, but I didn't get a choice. All I could do is pick my head up and continue to take on life as it comes. Because life is too precious to dwell on the hard knocks. So, 2012 ... even with the ups and downs you are a milestone in my life. I bid you farewell.

Bring on 2013 ...

We started off ringing 2013 with some of our closest friends. This was much more low key than last year. (When we rented the Grand Bohemian and spent the evening in Downtown Orlando.) Both are great ways to ring in a New Year and wake up with a hangover!! :)

2 days into the New Year ... Gaines comes down with the flu, followed by Mama that night & Papa the following night. We came across one of the toughest parenting situations ... trying to take care of a sick toddler when you yourself is weak with the flu and just want to be in bed wishing for the Grim Reaper to visit you! Fortunately for the family I bounced back pretty quickly (as mom's should), but Gaines and Heath took longer. It took Heath the longest to get back to feeling normal.

My poor baby not feeling good :(

After starting off the New Year sick things can only go up ... at least that's what I'm telling myself! ;-) Luckily Heath & I have our birthday's in January so we can get them out of the way and be done with the dread of adding another year!! Actually ... I tell Heath it's a milestone! (Positive thinking at its best!!)

The flu wiped us out for about 2 weeks, but then we were up and running with full schedules once again. We spent a Friday night at a sexy live art show, DRIP!! You go expecting to get wet with paint & sand and I definitely came out of there soaked and EXTREMELY happy!!! It was such an amazing time ... the energy from the dancers just moved you!!! You were happy when they were happy and sad when things took a turn. It pretty spectacular!!

The following weekend we took Gaines to Monster Truck Jam. He was so excited and very much got into cheering with the crowd for the trucks! He was truly mesmerized by the roaring of the engines and the crowd's reactions to the wrecks!!

I'm not sure what will come out of me on this blog. I'm sure I'll post what's been going on with the family ... along with random thoughts that pop in my head. Enjoy! :)
